Using Your Resources as a Small/Micro Business

Happy September! Reflecting on the past month, 100K Ideas was busy with multiple events, our biggest being the 100K Ideas Ultimate Pop-Up Market. This event was held on August 17th and gave a handful of local small and microbusinesses the ability to table in our space, bringing awareness to their businesses. The team at 100K was very proud to see entrepreneurs engage with the community and help be such a big part of a vibrant and fulfilling community event.

As an entrepreneur, utilizing assets such as vendor events within your community makes for the perfect opportunity to outreach and connect with others. Attending events such as the Ultimate Pop-Up Market can make you, as a business owner, more passionate, motivated, and ambitious. Today, we are going to discuss the importance of utilizing your assets and resources, within our community, for your benefit!

Whether you are a student, professor, intern, a CEO, or entrepreneur, the most effective and guaranteed method to learn something new and further yourself in your career is to: network with others, as well as allow yourself to be in spaces that are either familiar or unfamiliar to meet someone new and learn something new. As entrepreneurs, especially, stepping outside of your comfort zone and taking advantage of opportunities where there will be many new faces and opportunities is such a great way to further one’s business, outreach, and personal skills. Entrepreneurship involves taking risks and not always being sure what will come of an experience; you don’t know what you’ll find when taking part in events and experiences such as pop-up markets. Using your resources, attending local events, and tabiling can put you in the perfect position to meet new people, learn new things about those around you, and potentially have a new perspective on what others in your community are doing. This applies not only to entrepreneurs, but also customers attending vendor events. Even being a customer can teach you new things and surely expose you to new people.

Our community has so many small businesses owned and operated by residents of Genesee County. There are tons of possibilities, resources, connections, and opportunities. Entrepreneurs are not only creative but they are innovative and visionary. If you are an entrepreneur with a vision but not sure when or where to start 100K Ideas has plenty of services and programs for entrepreneurs at any stage of their process.
