Happy Holidays! We hope everyone is having a relaxing and fun holiday season. Here at 100K Ideas, we always do our best to try and find ways to give back to the community, but definitely strive for it during this time of year. This month we had the awesome opportunity to do a few events to help out those around us.
During the beginning of this month, we had the honor to volunteer some of our time at the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. Our team rolled up their sleeves, along with other members of the food bank, and spent a few hours sorting food that would be given to those in need this holiday season. It was a wonderful experience that allowed for our staff to team build and work together to help the community. We want to thank the Eastern Food Bank of Michigan for constantly seeking to make a difference through providing for families basic needs that we may take for granted everyday. We always feel joy and a heartfelt connection when pairing with an organization that takes the action to be able to help, give back, and work beyond the four walls of their organization to provide for those who need it most. If you are seeking an opportunity to make a difference, the Eastern Food Bank of Michigan is a great option.
Another opportunity we had was to sponsor and work the Kids Corner at the Flint Annual “Tree-mendous” Tree Lighting. Some of our staff spent the night helping set up and running games for the kids to play and assisting them with a coloring station full of drawings and holiday bingo. We, as well, had a station completely dedicated to holiday card making. The kids who came were able to decorate and write messages to veterans and military members for those who have served and/or couldn’t be home for the holidays this year. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to sponsor this part of the event and provide the children with opportunities for fun, as well as a way for them to give back this holiday season.
Though this time of year will come and go, we still want to encourage everyone to continue to give back to your community whenever possible. These festive months are a great opportunity to do so, but we can not forget many still need our help throughout the rest of the winter as well. Whether it is going out and volunteering, donating, or just being a helping hand, it’s great to use what you can to support others.
Let’s ring in a new year, a new decade, and a new start by spreading love, joy, and positivity!
