5 Tips for the New Year

Happy new year everyone! As we take the time to celebrate with one another and reflect on memories from last year, let’s also take the time to create our goals for this year. Some may want to stick to goals from 2022 or work with new goals in 2023. We are excited for all of the goals you have. Here are some helpful tips and tricks for starting, and sticking, to your goals and ideas for the new year.

Daily check ins
Daily check-ins are a great place to review your goals, daily. This can take place in the morning before you start your day, during your work day, or right before you head to bed. Be realistic about your daily/monthly goals (that go into your 2023 goals) to avoid becoming overwhelmed and burned out.

Keep a journal/planner
Writing in your journal/planner can help you stay organized & balanced. For some, writing helps them reflect on their day. According to Mynd Up’s Website, journaling reduces stress and helps you feel more positive. A planner saves people’s lives by keeping them organized, get you one!

Track and limit
Optimize your time. Between the 7-8 hours of sleep that’s recommended and 8-12 hour work days, you have 4-9 hours of your day to accomplish something on your list of goals. What tasks can you tackle for the day? Anything you can’t do, plan for it in the upcoming days/weeks.

Celebrate wins
Small wins help in a huge way. They help you feel accomplished and eventually become a part of a bigger win. Acknowledging and rewarding yourself for the progress you have made can help encourage you as you continue to pursue your goals.

Self-care, Take care
Self-care looks different for everyone. For some, it could be having a spa day. For others, it could be saying no to things or people who take away time for your goals. It can even just be disconnecting and having time to decompress. Whatever your body is telling you, try to listen and take the time to take care of yourself.
