A Growth Mindset

As entrepreneurs there is a certain way most of our brains think. Entrepreneurs are seen as outgoing and creative, risk takers. Never viewing challenges as stopping points but as stair steps to step over and move forward. Entrepreneurs and business owners have a mindset to push them selves to thrive; this is a growth mindset.

Well what is a growth mindset? Growth mindset is a thought process when a person runs into a problem they believe they can find a solution or develop the skills necessary to continue to move forward. This mindset does not only apply to entrepreneurs and business owners but can be used by anyone. Three ways you can develop a growth mindset are:

  1. View both success and failure as an opportunity to learn and improve your skills. Anything can always be better and nothing is perfect. Being able to see the flaws in success and the greatness in failure is important
  2. Understanding that criticism is not a bad thing. Criticism from others allows you to see a point of view that you can’t see from where you are standing. Using criticism constructively allows you to gain a new perspective.
  3. Lastly, the biggest part of developing a growth mindset is to make mistakes! If you do something right every time you might be doing something wrong. There are always ways to improve and the only way to improve and get better or gain new skills is to fail at something.

A growth mindset can be applied almost anywhere in life you feel necessary. Having a growth mindset allows you to take in more ideas and overall create more ideas becoming and more creative individual.
